This Weeks UK Charts and New Entries
Neil Diamond - Home Before Dark
This has further enhanced the success of older artists in the charts by recording a career capping achievement. Not only has the album topped the UK chart this week, but he has also hit the US chart at #1 for the first time ever!
This is only his second #1 in the UK, sixteen years ago he hit the top spot with a greatest hits compilation, but in a 42 year spanning career he has never had an album of original material hit the charts at number one in either country before now.
Quite a coup for the 67 year old singer songwriter!
Pendulum - In Silico
Not far behind, hitting the #2 spot the sophomore album from the Australian Drum 'n' Bass duo is not quite so Drum 'n' Bass as their first offering Hold Your Colour, having a more rock edge and feel to it.
However as can be seen by it's chart entry position far from putting off the legions of devoted fans they seem to have taken to it like a Duck to Water and not only that, they have accumulated some more friends as well.
The album has far out performed their debut, and will surely bring them to the attention of more a diverse audience. A great live band by the way, catch them if you can!
